We have changed the AI article chat feature - it's much faster than before and has the ability to search the wider web if you cannot find what you are looking for in our database. NB. The uncurated option is exactly that - we cannot vouch for the integrity of that information.

The chat now also remembers your current chat window history and uses that for context.

That means that you can ask follow up questions to a previous result or query.

Resetting the chat, will reset the history and a new load of the chat window will do the same.

We have updated the lower limb 2D gait analysis apps - there is now a dedicated mobile device edition, a desktop edition and an experimental marker editor edition - this one remembers your frame by frame edits to provide a more granular and accurate analysis.

The new desktop edition also allows you to adjust playback speed (for slowmotion or quickmotion) and you can still go frame by frame if you prefer. There are now 3 AI models you can select - fast, balanced and accurate. Tracking and detection confidence can be adjusted and contact for heel strikes can also be modified.

A scale calibration tool also allows you to set distances with more accuracy.

We have a brand new upper limb app now also.

The upper limb app is currently in an experimental alpha stage and we welcome your feedback, advice and requests.

Minor change implemented to the Academy website - you may have found that if you left the page with no active use, it would require you to log in again. This could many times throughout the day if you are one of our many active users!

We have raised the timeout from 24 minutes to 8 hours. This should give you (mostly) uninterrupted access throughout the working day if you log in at the start of the day. You may still get an auto log out when we issue some site-wide updates but a quick log back in and you are good for another 8 hours.

During the beta-test phase, the site will continue receiving updates throughout the next 4 weeks as we get ready for a more public launch of the site!

Of course, if you have any issues relating to your account, be sure to send the team an email at info@researchworks.academy and we will review and return your email as soon as possible.

2D Machine Learning gait lab app update

Hi folks,

We have made some minor changes to the 2D ML Gaitlab app - there are actually 2 versions of this. One we mark as *stable* and the other as *experimental*. (see https://www.researchworks.academy/gaitlab.php and https://www.researchworks.academy/gaitla...mental.php).

For both apps, we have adjusted the marker labels to make them more compliant to regular terminology. The "bicep" angle is now the elbow joint and angle and the "delt" angle is now the shoulder joint and angle.

Much of this was due to the labeling limitiations (bicep and delt are much shorter) but the experimental version has removed the labels on the output to give a cleaner look. The labels are still visible on the *stable* edition.

The *experimental edition* also has inverse interior angle calculations now. Whereas a straight hip>knee>ankle angle is 180 degrees in the stable edition, the experimental edition treats this as 0 degrees instead. This may be more helpful for clinicians used to this calculation method instead.

Future updates will revolve around features being added to the analysis side of the app.

As always, we welcome feedback - you can use either the feedback form (https://www.researchworks.academy/feedback.php) or leave a comment below.
