Life after conference! - Dayna - 06-29-2025 After a huge week that was EACD - we have now commenced the phase of life after conference! It is a relief in some respects, especially if you presented some work - but it also a bit quiet! How wonderful it was to see old friends, make new friends and to be inspired. So, in this new week - what does it look like for you? What changes do you want to make when you get back to work? RE: Life after conference! - MatthewHaddon - 07-01-2025 I’m looking forward to pushing towards a truly family-centred approach - involving, upskilling, coaching and guiding as a therapist rather than just ‘doing’ the therapy. There were so many wonderful presentations that highlighted not only the need and importance of this approach, but the effectiveness of it! RE: Life after conference! - Deb Claësson - 07-04-2025 If I may join?I am looking forward to implementing Driving to learn from OT Lisbeth Nilsson with the kids and families I am doing a project on power mobility with. I have to study the method, but I can’t wait to put it into practice! RE: Life after conference! - Dayna - 07-09-2025 I love that you joined!!! Yes!!! That is so great! There is so much evidence to support the right to early mobility! It's freedom, it's choice, autonomy. Everything good!! Do you already have a powered mobility device or will you be adapting one? Really keen to follow this! RE: Life after conference! - ProducerEd - 07-22-2025 As a non-health professional, it's very interesting to be a part of these conferences. I've learnt a great deal about the in's and out's of research, why it's not a simple endeavour to apply the latest science into practice and why there is now such a big push for the lived experience perspective. The change of terminology to "childhood-onset" is also indicative of the life-long ramifications of conditions and injuries and is now pushing for a holistic look at therapy across the life-span. It's always inspiring, even when it's not your field of expertise, knowing that there are others in the big wide world looking to make that world a better place for so many people. EACD / IAACD, AusACPDM and AACPDM are some of the finest conferences in the world all pursuing excellence, innovation and discovery. |
